Prom Night Fun

Posted In: Karoake Shows by Rockstar

This past Saturday was a bit of a stormy night, and it was prom night to boot. The owner said that it’s usually rather slow on prom night every year.

Not this time. The place was packed, and when the night ended I still had a pile of tickets that got tossed away.

Daniel bought another CD from Sound Choice, which had some really good tunes on there. I should have taken the sheet home so I could post the new tunes, but basically he got a small selection of Metallica, and several other good rock tunes. A bit on the pricey side ($60.00!!!), but they make a nice addition.

We’ll have another show on the 5th, so mark your calender!  Hope to see you there…

Sing Karaoke for $10k

Posted In: Other Karaoke News by Rockstar

Think you’re good?

Think you’re good enough to compete for $10k in prizes? Thats what IL. residents have geared up for. The Wilmington residents are suckin’ down lasanges and sporting the tight clothes as the competition heats up in a battle royal for ten big ones.

With that kind of cash up for grabs, you’d think that people in other states would even sign the vacation request forms to garner that kind of doe! Me?…. yeah, right.

I think I’m better off standing away from the spotlight, and just stick in a cd or two. ;)

Easter Weekend Karaoke

Posted In: Karoake Shows by Rockstar

Wow… What a turnout!

Honestly, I figured the crowd was going to be rather dull considering the Easter holiday around the corner. I thought people were going to be leaving town, or just plain spending the night at home with family and friends.

Guess not. It started out extremely slow, but about an hour later, the place was packed. Lots of new faces too, which was nice. More tickets than I could handle at some points.

I suppose this means that we’re doing something right, which solidifies us as the only real karaoke DJ’s in the area. This isn’t a surprise of course, as I hear a couple other guys are doing it, but they have half the equipment we got. Sound is important, and I think it’s paying off.

Hopefully, we’ll be able to add some more songs, speakers, etc. and keep the thing rolling. Which reminds me, Daniel was nice enough to purchase a couple CD’s (one of which is on the way), and he’s going to let us add them to our collection. The brand is ‘Sound Choice’…. and in this business, they are hands down, the best. Needless to say, his contribution is extremely appreciated. Thanks Danny!

Another Karaoke show is booked two weeks from now, at the Long Horn in Mitchell again. Hope to see more new faces!

I know I’ve posted this somewhere else before, but I couldn’t resist doing it again.

Being a part time musician, I think this is probably one of the funniest damn flash movies every made - Strongbad Rockstar

Site Design

Posted In: Site News by Rockstar

The core site will go under some reconstruction soon. I’ve put far too much effort in the ‘marketing’ portion, and not enough in the ‘user’ side.

The overall look will not change. I’m pretty pleased with my work, but still need to tweak it some. However, the article layouts, user interface, products….. everything is gunna get moved or deleted, and new content updated.

I’ve got some good ideas, and hopefully people will enjoy them as much as I think they will. If you happen to have some idea’s, drop me a line. I’d be happy to see what I can do.

New Idea

Posted In: Site News by Rockstar

The idea of a forum was failing fast. Far too much junk flying that way, and not nearly enough time in a day to keep it managed. Spam spam spam.

So, I’ve decided to trash it, and go blog style. This is something I can manage, and the spam is much easier to control.

I’d like comments on here to be kept to karaoke only (hopefully), and with a little luck, this will grow, over time, much easier than a forum.

Wish me luck!
